Frank Trigg and Joe Ferraro talk UFC Fight Night 65: ‘Anytime Mark Hunt is an underdog, that is value’

MMAoddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with “Showdown” Joe Ferraro about tonight’s (May 9, 2015) UFC Fight Night 65 event, which takes place at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia and features a heavyweight main event between Mark Hunt and Stipe Miocic.

The mixed martial arts insiders passionately discussed the entire fight card as well as the latest news, but it was the main event that really got Ferraro excited:

“Anytime [Mark] Hunt is an underdog, that is value. You probably want to put a couple dollars on Hunt. But Miocic has the youth factor. He just went five rounds with Junior dos Santos. You can look at it and say he took a lot of damage or you can look at it and say it was a lot of experience garnered. Against a guy like Mark Hunt, who’s going to have the whole arena behind him, he’s gonna be motivated but I don’t think it’ll bother a guy like Stipe at all. I think he’s gonna have a job to do but in this fight, Stipe has to make it dirty. The problem with making a fight dirty against a guy with a smaller reach than you is you’re going to get tagged. You’ve got to use your reach but also get in there and punish him. You can’t give Mark Hunt space. In my opinion, you take away the space, make the fight dirty against Hunt along the cage with knees and elbows, do what you’ve got to do and work from there. This is five rounds. Use your time wisely and don’t give Hunt space and Miocic walks away with a victory.”
