Boxing Preview: Lines for Weekend of Jan. 31st

Right now 5DIMES has several boxing lines up for Saturday, starting with a Heavyweight fight between Chauncy Welliver and Sonny Bill Williams scheduled for Sydney, Australia. Right now Williams is a solid (-275) favorite over the veteran Welliver, who returns at (+235). Welliver is 31 years old but he has been around forever it seems, starting his career off in 2001. He is (55-10-5) overall, and he has dropped three fights in a row. As for Williams, this is his first fight in roughly two years, as he has not fought since Feb of 2013 when he won a decision over veteran Franz Botha. His overall record stands at just (6-0). Also on the card is Australian Heavyweight prospect Willis Meehan (2-0) so check back throughout the week to see if lines are added for this card. Heading over to London’s O2 Arena, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing are presenting a card headlined by Lightweights Kevin Mitchell facing Daniel Estrada for the vacant WBC Silver title. Right now Mitchell is favored at (-320), with Estrada, the former titleholfder out of Mexico returning at (+260). Undefeated prospect Tommy Martin (10-0) faces fellow Brit Ricky Boylan (12-1) for England’s Super Lightweight title in a bout that is dead even at the books with both men paying (-110). Also at Super Lightweight, undefeated Tyler Goodjohn faces John Wayne Hibbert for the WBC International title in another match that sees both men retuning at (-110). The final bout from the O2 Arena getting a line is at Middleweight as John Ryder is a heavy (-780) favorite to defend his WBO Inter-Continental title against Argentina’s Billi Facundo Godoy, who returns at (+460). None of the fights list over/under lines yet, and look for the main fights to air on SKY in the United Kingdom.
