Your Best Bets for UFC Fight Night 68’s ‘Fight of the Night’

Joe-SotoUFC Fight Night 68 Date: June 6, 2015 Arena: Smoothie King Center City: New Orleans, Louisiana The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to New Orleans, LA tonight with UFC Fight Night 68: Henderson vs Boetsch. The 12-fight card will feature a six fight card to be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm ET, and preliminary action will precede it on the same channel at 8pm ET, with a pair of bouts streaming live prior to that on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on these ‘FOTN’ props or any other plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. The ‘Fight of the Night’ plays that hold the most value are: Birchak/Soto +600 || 5u to win 3u This is the second time these bantamweights are scheduled to meet, and when they enter the Octagon in New Orleans this evening, I think they are going to deliver, likely producing a memorable fight in the UFC’s bantamweight division. These 135-pounders are generally fun to watch in action, especially Birchak. At +600, I think this play is worth a shot, a I think Birchak and Soto have a great chance of producing fireworks when they square off this evening. Both fighters are coming off defeats in their promotional debuts and are eagerly looking to get their first UFC win against each other, so I expect they will leave it all insie the Octagon when they go to battle on the evening’s FOX Sports 1 preliminary card. Soto was pulled from his original scheduled bout and put into a title fight against UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw when Dillashaw’s original opponent Renan Barao was removed from the contest last minute. Soto lucked into a title shot in his UFC debut, but ended up losing via knockout in the fifth and final round of action, after being dominated by the champ throughout the contest. Soto getting the title shot meant Birchak being without an opponent for that card, but when he returned to action against Ian Entwistle, he suffered an unfortunate first round submission loss. Entwistle applied a tight heel-hook, and after Birchak did his best to defend, the cage eventually got in the way and he was forced to tap. Now with their defeats behind them, they look to get back on track tonight. Should these bantamweights take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would certainly mean the first time for both fighters. Wade/Giagos +700 – .5u to win 3.5u These are both very talented lightweights in the division and I expect them to both have a good showing in New Orleans this evening. I think this will likely be a closely contested bout that sees both fighters have their moments, likely resulting in an entertaining 15-minutes of memorable action when all is said and done. Wade will be looking to string together his third straight victory inside the Octagon, while Giagos hopes to make it two in a row, following a first round submission loss to Gilbert Burns in his debut with the promotion. He bounced back with a first round rear naked choke submission win over Jorge Oliveira in Brazil just a couple of months ago and now hopes to earn the biggest victory of his professional mixed martial arts career when he takes on Wade. Following a first round technical guillotine choke submission win over Cain Carrozosa in his promotional debut and a unanimous decision over Zhang Lipeng, Wade also gets a step up in competition in this contest. I expect both lightweights to give it their all in an effort to stay in the win column and continue their climb up the promotion’s 155-pound ladder. Should Wade and Giagos earn the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would mean the first time for both lightweights.
