Bellator 140 took place last night at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, and overall the card was pretty dull aside from a few excellent fights and a couple stoppages, as many of the fights went to decision. Overall from a betting perspective, four favorites and zero underdogs won based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Bellator 140 Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Andrey Koreshkov battled Douglas Lima for the Bellator welterweight title. It wasn’t the most entertaining battle, but Koreshkov was able to utilize superior wrestling to control Lima and win a one-sided unanimous decision and take Lima’s belt. Surprisingly, Koreshkov closed as a -108 (Bet $108 to win $100) favorite while Lima was a slight underdog at -102 (Bet $102 to win $100). In a 173 pound catchweight contest, Paul Daley weathered the early storm to knock Dennis Olson out in the second round. Olson was able to utilize a wrestling-centric attack in the first round but Daley bounced back in a big way by putting Olson out cold with punches. At the time of closing, Daley was a hefty -900 favorite while Olson was +700. In another welterweight bout, Brennan Ward made quick work of Roger Carroll. Ward was a hefty favorite entering the bout and he managed to score a big knockout with one punch just two minutes into the fight. Ward closed at -900 while Carroll was a +700 dog. In the opening bout of the main card, welterweight Michael Page put on a show against Rudy Bears, scoring another highlight reel knockout with a nasty straight punch after just one minute. Page closed as a massive -1400 favorite while Bears was +1100. Bellator 140 bouts that ended in no contest In a welterweight fight, Chris Honeycutt seemed on his way to winning a decision over Paul Bradley when an accidental headbutt put a halt to the proceedings. The bout was unable to continue and was instead deemed a no contest. Honeycutt closed as a -340 favorite while Bradley was the underdog at +310.
