MMA Odds and Ends for Wednesday: Five UFC Fight Night 71 Prop Bets To Consider

021915-UFC-Fight-Night-Sean-Strickland-PI-CH.vadapt.955.high.0 With no news matchups announced, today’s MMA Odds and Ends is a special edition where I give out five prop bets that I like for tonight’s UFC Fight Night 71 card. Todd Duffee wins in round 1 (+105) If you read my fight breakdown, you know I really lean to wards Todd Duffee to beat Frank Mir, and I favor him to do so in the first round of the fight. I usually don’t recommend betting on round props but in this case I believe earning a first-round knockout is the most likely path to victory for Duffee. So at +105, I do see value in this prop. Kevin Lee wins by decision (+155) Another prop I really like is Kevin Lee to defeated James Moontasri via decision. Lee is not a finisher, he’s a point fighter, and the odds are good here on him earning a decision. All four of Lee’s UFC fights have gone the distance and he’s won three of those fights. If Moontasri gasses, maybe Lee gets a stoppage, but I think he’ll grind it out and at +155 I like this prop quite a bit. Alan Jouban vs. Matt Dwyer doesn’t start round 2 (+105) I think the fight between Alan Jouban and Matt Dwyer ends early, likely in Jouban’s favor, but a knockout by Dwyer wouldn’t shock me. That’s why I like the prop on this fight not starting round 2, which is at +105. I feel like there’s a very good chance there’s an early stoppage in this fight by either man, neither who likes to go long in their fights, so at plus money there’s value on it, in my opinion. Sam Sicilia -3.5 points handicap (-115) I really think Sam Sicilia has a good chance of finishing Yaotzin Meza, but even if he doesn’t, I see him grinding out a clear-cut decision. At -115, I do think there’s value on the Sicilia points handicap at a Pick ’em-type price. You never know with the judges, but I think there’s a good chance they won’t be needed so I do like this prop. Igor Araujo vs. Sean Strickland UNDER 2.5 rounds (+105) And finally, a total that I really like on this card is the UNDER in the Igor Araujo vs. Sean Strickland fight. I really feel like this is a mismatch, one that I fully expect Strickland to win inside the distance. At +105, I like the under here, just in case Araujo sneaks in a submission or something. But I do think Strickland wins this fight in impressive fashion, so I like this under.
