Bellator 136’s Dave Jansen: ‘Bjorn Rebney tried to shortchange me on three out of seven fights’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 136 lightweight Dave Jansen about his upcoming main event title bout this Friday night ( April 10, 2015) against champion Will Brooks at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California.

The current number one contender is very happy to see new management in charge of Bellator after revealing some previous issues he had with the previous founder of the company:

“I’m getting more respect from the company. Both Scott [Coker] and Rich [Chou] have been really good to me so far. With Bjorn [Rebney], I’ll be honest, there were issues with my money and my contract. He tried to shortchange me on I think three out of seven fights. I had a contract and every time a bout agreement showed up, there was less money than my stated contract so I had to go to war about the contract.”

When asked about his opponent’s weaknesses, Jansen wasn’t afraid to speak his mind either:

“It’s nothing new. [Will Brooks] has got holes in his game and I’m looking to exploit those holes. I think his ego might be his biggest detriment. He thinks he’s invincible so I’m gonna do him a favor by giving him a wake-up call and putting him to sleep.”
