Live Dogs for Bellator 136

Bellator-93Bellator 136 Date: April 13, 2015 Arena: Bren Events Center City: Irvine, CA Bellator 136 will be live from Irvine, CA this Friday night (April 13, 2015) with a 13-fight card, including a four fight main card that will be live on Spike TV at 9pm ET. Preliminary action will precede it on Spike.com at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on any this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my live dogs for Bellator 136: Lightweight title bout: Dave Jansen (+400) vs Will Brooks (-600) Gabe’s Thoughts: I favor Brooks to get his hand raised in this five round main event title fight, as I think he is the superior fighter of the two. He also has a size advantage over Jansen going into this bout. That leads me to my point, which is that Brooks has been having a rough weight cut for this fight, which could play a factor should the scrap reach championship rounds. I think Brooks wins this fight more often than not, but I don’t agree with his current betting price of -600. I think the value here is with the challenger Jansen at +400, so I’ll take a little stab. Gabe’s Call: Will Brooks by Unanimous Decision (49-46, 48-47, 49-47) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Jansen (+400) .35u to win 1.4u Heavyweight bout: Alexander Volkov (-420) vs Tony Johnson (+300) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Johnson is a real live dog in this spot and could win this fight by either T/KO or decision. I am slightly leaning towars Volkov to pick up the win, as I agree with him being the favorite in this contest, however I don’t agree with the current betting odds. I think the betting value is with Johnson at +300, and normally I would have made a bigger play, but I am opting to keep things on the smaller side for this Bellator card leading up to Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 64 in Krakow, for which I have some big plays. Gabe’s Call: Volkov by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Johnson (+300).85u to win 2.55u
