Prop Plays for UFC Fight Night 62 in Brazil

MMA: UFC on FX 8-Rio vs TrinaldoUFC Fight Night 62 Date: 03/21/15 Arena: Maracanazinho Gymnasium City: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this tomorrow night (Mar. 21st, 2015) with UFC Fight Night 62. The event will feature a 12-fight card that is to be headlined by a five-round welterweight tilt between the Brazilian Demian Maia and New York native Ryan LaFlare. Main card action gets underway on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm, with preliminary action preceding it on the same television channel at 8pm and a pair of bouts coming before that on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on any of these prop bets or any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My prop plays for UFC Fight Night 62 in Brazil are: Welterweight bout: Erick Silva (-500) vs Josh Koscheck (+435) Fight Won’t Start Round Two (+110) .5u to win .55u Fight Won’t Start Round Three (-215) 1.29u to win .6u Koscheck in Round One (+1425) .2u to win 2.85u Regardless of who wins, I think this fight has a good chance of ending within the first five minutes of action. Personally, I am backing the underdog “Kos” and am hoping he gets his hand raised in Brazil. Lightweight bout: Leonardo Santos (+125) vs Tony Martin (-135) Santos in Round Three (+1250) .2u to win 2.5u If this 155-pound scrap reaches the third stanza, I like the Brazilian’s chances of wrapping things up with a submission finish. Women’s Bantamweight bout: Amanda Nunes (-420) vs Shayna Baszler (+375) Nunes in Round One (+185) 1u to win 1.85u Nunes by Submission (+580) 1u to win 5.8u Nunes -3.5 (-250) 2.5u to win 1u Simply put, I see Nunes making quick work of Baszler in front of her fellow Brazilian crowd and returning to the win column. I think it is a coin-flip whether she finishes this fight by T/KO or locks up a rear naked choke with Baszler hurt, so I think getting +580 on that prop is a gift. Lightweight bout: Alex Oliveira (+480) vs Gilbert Burns (-570) Burns in Round One (+155) 1u to win 1.55u Burns -3.5 (-290) 2.9u to win 1u I’m expecting a quick finish by Burns in this contest, and I think it will come in highlight-reel fashion. I see this as being another easy victory for the Brazilian 155-pound prospect on his rise up the UFC’s lightweight ladder. Lightweight bout: Akhbar Arreola (+185) vs Francisco Trinaldo (-200) Fight Doesn’t Go to Decision (-120) .6u to win .5u Trinaldo Inside the Distance (+200) .5u to win 1u To put it simply, I favor this fight to end inside the distance, and more often than not I think it’s the Brazilian who gets the finish. I could see him knocking Arreola out on the feet, or taking him down and finishing him with a ground and pound or submission. There is the possibility that Trinaldo could get caught with something himself, but I think it’s much more likely that he gets the finish, and likely within the first 10 minutes of action. Lightweight bout: Drew Dober (+140) vs Leandro Silva (-150) Dober in Round Three (+2400) .25u to win 6u Dober by T/KO (+1150) .4u to win 4.6u Dober +3.5 (-195) 1.95u to win 1u I think Dober should be favored heading into this bout and while I do think it is more likely that he wins the fight via decision, I do think he has a good chance of putting the Brazilian away with strikes, and at the current betting odds, I think it’s worth a shot. Lightweight bout: Cain Carrizosa (+145) Leonardo Mafra (-155) Carrisoza +3.5 (-140) .7u to win .5u If Carrisoza loses a decision, I think he will have done enough to win one round. However, should this fight hit the judges’ scorecards for a nod, I slightly favor Carrizosa to deserve it, though I could see a hometown decision going Mafra’s way. I think Carrizosa finishes this fight, but if hits the cards, things could be interesting when Bruce Buffer reads the scores. Lightweight bout: Christos Giagos (-190) vs Jorge de Oliveira (+175) Giagos -3.5 (-115) 1.15u to win 1u I like Giagos’ chances of finishing this fight, but should he fail to put the Brazilian away, I think he will have done enough to win every round for unanimous 30-27 scores on the judges’ cards. Flyweight bout: Bentley Syler (-105) vs Fredy Serrano (-105) Serrano by Decision (+230) 1u to win 2.3u Serrano by T/KO (+500) .4u to win 2u Serrano in Round One (+700) .5u to win 3.5u Serrano -3.5 (-225) .56u to win .25u I think the most likely outcome to this flyweight bout is Serrano winning a decision; however I do also like his chances of putting Syler away with his heavy hands. Should he secure the finish, more often than not I think it will come within the first round of action.
