MMAOddsBreaker.com’s Fight of the Month for September 2017 goes to lightweights Gregor Gillespie and Jason Gonzalez at UFC Fight Night 116 in Pittsburgh on September 16th.
Surging undefeated lightweight prospect Gregor Gillespie took on Jason Gonzalez in what resulted in a tremendous barn burner. Known for his wrestling, Gillespie opted to stand in the pocket and trade with Gonzalez, resulting in highly entertaining exchanges. He mixed things up with his grappling, as well, taking Gonzalez down to the mat and craftily working his way towards a beautiful an arm triangle choke finish. It was another fantastic outing by Gillespie inside the Octagon, who improves to 10-0 as a pro and 3-0 in the UFC. Meanwhile, Gonzalez drops to 11-4 and 1-2 in the UFC. Congratulations to both 155-pounders for earning MMAOddsBreaker.com’s ‘Fight of the Month’ honors.
