After a shaky start in week one, I am ready to bounce back with my plays for Week 2 of the 2016-17 NFL season. And without further ado, here are my bets for the week… EARLY GAMES Cowboys +4 (-150) > Redskins buy 1.5pts Both teams suffered rough losses last week and this divisional game is a very important one for both, as neither of them wants to start the season out at 0-2. Simply put, I believe Dallas is the better team and I don’t see them losing by more than a touchdown here. I like them on the spread in this one, and I’ll take an extra point and a half, too, thanks! Saints +7 (-160) > Giants *buy 2pts I think this game is going to be a shootout. The Giants barely won their last game against the Cowboys, and the Saints barely lost their game against the Raiders. Both games were close, and I expect this one to be, as well. I think New Orleans could win this outright, but I want to take them on the points, and I’ll even buy a couple. I don’t see them losing by more than a touchdown. DAY GAMES Buccaneers +7.5 (-120) > Cardinals Tampa Bay had a solid season opener, upsetting Atlanta on the road, now they travel to Arizona in an attempt to make a strong 2-0 start to the seaso against the Cardinals, who dropped their home season opener to New England. Despite the win last week, TB RB Doug Martin had a poor showing, and I expect him to bounce back in this game with at least 70 rushing yards and a touchdown. TB QB Jameis Winston had an excellent game one and his numbers in game two may not be as good but I think he will have another solid showing against the Cardinals, despite their great secondary. Colts +7 (-125) > Broncos I expect this to be a close game and like Indianapolis to keep things within a touchdown. I think they have a good chance of coming out on top with a victory, as I expect Colts QB Andrew Luck to have a big game here in an attempt to put his team back on track following the disappointing week one loss to Detroit. The Broncos will look to keep things rolling after their week one upset win over the Panthers. Raiders -3 (-155) > Falcons buy 1.5pts Raiders pulled off a last minute overtime upset against the Saints in week one and will be looking to go 2-0 against the Falcons, who came up short against Tampa Bay last week, losing their first home opener in eight years. I think they continue to roll at home here going 2-0, while the Falcons drop to 0-2 on the road. Likely to be a high scoring game, I expect Oakland to come out on top in this one. SUNDAY NIGHT GAME Packers -1.5 (-105) > Vikings In short, I think this will be a high scoring game, and I like Green Bay’s chances of coming out on top. Games to Avoid Betting: Ravens/Browns and Bengals/Steelers
