Here is my parlay: Welterweight bout: CM Punk (+385) vs Mickey Gall (-485) Gabe’s Thoughts: In short, I believe Gall has a bright future in the UFC’s welterweight division and I think he will defeat Punk is a one-sided affair. I don’t see the 37-year old mixed martial arts newcomer being able to compete with Gall. Even at his heavily juiced asking price of -485, I think Gall holds value and is worth playing. Gabe’s Call: Gall by Submission (armbar, 1:31 round 1) Bantamweight bout: Urijah Faber (+115) vs Jimmie Rivera (-135) Gabe’s Thoughts: Faber is 37 years old and coming off a very one sided unanimous decision loss to Dominic Cruz in what was the rubbermatch of their trilogy, of which they were 1-1 heading in. Looking to bounce back into the win column, he takes on Rivera, who is 3-0 in the UFC with a knockout of Marcus Brimage and unanimous decision victories over Pedro Munhoz and Iuri Alcantara, respectively. He enjoys an 18 fight winning streak heading into this contest and aims to make it 19 by simultaneously earning what would arguably be the biggest victory of his professional mixed martial arts career. A win over Faber would catapult him right into the UFC bantamweight title picture and he would likely be another fight or two away from earning a shot at the gold. At this point in their careers, I believe Rivera is the superior fighter and I expect him to get the better of Faber in this contest. I think there is a good chance he puts Faber away in this bout, but if hits the judges’ scorecards for a decision, I think he will have succesfully defended Faber’s takedowns and outstruck him en route to earning a unanimous nod. I think his jab and uppercut will be key strikes for him in this match-up and could see him using the jab to set up an uppercut that puts Faber in trouble. I think Rivera should be a -230 betting favorite heading into this contest, so I really like him for a wager at his current near coin-flip offering price of -135. Gabe’s Call: Rivera by T/KO (punches, 2:13 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Gall (-475) and Rivera (-135) at +109 for 4.6u to win 5.5u
