Henry Corrales Suffers Injury, Bellator 160 Co-Main Event in Jeapordy

Sources confirm Bellator featherweight Henry Corrales has suffered an undisclosed injury in training and is likely out of his scheduled Bellator 160 co-main event bout against BodyShop MMA’s AJ McKee. It is unclear whether Bellator will find a replacement on such short notice or move McKee to a future card. It is my guess that a change of opponents would drop McKee from co-main event down to the prelims, while moving the Bubba Jenkins vs Georgi Karakhanyan rematch from the prelims up to the main card, where many feel it should have been in the first place. McKee will be looking to stay undefeated as a pro after going 4-0 under the Bellator banner with four first round finishes. Corrales was going to be the first big step up in competition for the 21 year old, so it will be interesting to see who the promotion gets to replace him. Corrales was coming off a three fight skid, with a unanimous decision loss to Emmanuel Sanchez and pair of submission losses to Daniel Straus and Patricio “Pitbull” Freire, respectively. He was eagerly looking to break back into the win column by halting the McKee hype train, but it looks like he won’t be getting the chance. Not this weekend. Bellator 160 will be live on Spike TV at 9pm ET on Friday, August 6th. It will be headlined by a lightweight contest between former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and former Bellator featherweight champion, the aforementioned Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
