MMA Odds and Ends for Wednesday: Carlos Condit vs. Demian Maia moved to UFC on FOX 21, TUF 24 cast revealed

400 Carlos Condit vs. Demian Maia headlines UFC on FOX 21  UFC officials announced that Carlos Condit vs. Demian Maia has been moved to UFC on FOX 21 as the main event. The matchup previously served as the co-main event for UFC 202 in Las Vegas. Condit (30-8) heads into this matchup off a split decision loss to welterweight title holder Robbie Lawler in January. Maia (23-6) is riding a five fight win streak including wins over Matt Brown, Gunnar Nelson and Neil Magny. Also added to the card is a rematch between lightweights Joe Lauzon (26-12) and Jim Miller (26-8), as well as the debut of middleweights Ryan Janes (8-1) vs. Adam Hunter (7-1). In addition, Sam Alvey (27-8 1NC) makes his third appearance in just over two months against Kevin Casey (9-4-NC) and lightweights Shane Campbell (12-5) vs. Felipe Silva (7-0) will clash as well. The coaches will be flyweight contenders Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo. The show will feature 12 episodes airing Wednesdays on FS1. Each episode’s winner will advance in the single-elimination tournament. In a new twist from previous seasons, the two finalists will meet in the last fight in the house to determine who will receive a shot at the UFC flyweight world title at the finale in December. She hasn’t fought since then due to a knee injury, but has gone 7-1 in her last eight fights. Daley (16-6) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Ericka Almeida, which pushed her UFC record to 2-1. UFC Fight Night 93 takes place Sept. 3 at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Here’s an updated look at the card.   • Dave Jansen (20-4), a former title challenger who is coming off back-to-back losses against Will Brooks and Marcin Held.
