Five Props that Cashed Big at UFC Fight Night 90

Derrick-LewisFive Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five UFC Fight Night 90 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakerss. 1) Eddie Alvarez by T/KO (+510) Eddie Alvarez realized his dream and captured the UFC Lightweight title with first round TKO of Rafael dos Anjos. It was an incredible performance by the veteran and he brought the whole crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to their feet. He hurt the Brazilian and smelled blood, so he went in for the kill and ultimately forced the referee to step in and halt the action. A huge win for Alvarez, who was a big underdog heading into the contest, and a definite highlight to be added to his already extensive reel. Congratulations are in order to those who wagered on Alvarez defeating dos Anjos via T/KO, as that prop cashed in at a cool +510. Even more congratulations if you tailed me on it in my props article for the card, where I recommended it at +600. 2) Derrick Lewis by Decision (+590) Derrick Lewis took a controversial split decision victory over Roy “Big Country” Nelson, after spending much of the fight either with his back on the mat or against the cage. “The Black Beast” appeared to be getting the better of Nelson on the feet but Nelson’s grappling and takedowns proved to be the difference, though the judges’ did not agree. Congrats to you if you gambled on Lewis taking this fight on the judges’ scorecards, as the prop cashed in at a nice +590. I do personally feel this was a robbery, despite the fact that I had a play on Nelson by Decision +690. 3) Pedro Munhoz by Submission (+310) Pedro Munhoz defeated the always game Hawaiian Russell Doane via guillotine choke submission in the opening stanza. It was a great outing for the Brazilian, who looked simply incredible inside the Octagon, going on to make quick work of the very tough to finish Hawaiian. Those who wagered on Munhoz to put his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu credentials to good use in this contest cashed out with a solid +310, so congrats! 4) Felipe Arantes by Submission (+400) Felipe Arantes scored a come from behind armbar submission over Jerrod Sanders in the second round of action, after spending the majority of the bout with his back on the canvas. The win makes it two in a row for Arantes since dropping from featherweight down to the UFC’s bantamweight division, and he has picked up both victories by way of armbar submission. If you wagered on the Brazilian exposing the hole in Sanders’ defense, then you ended up taking home a very nice +400, so congratulations are in order. 5) Marcos Beltran by Submission (+1105) Marco Beltran notched a second round rear naked choke victory over Reginaldo Viera, making it three in a row for himself inside the Octagon. This was arguably the biggest victory of Beltran’s professional mixed martial arts career and he earned it in highlight reel fashion. Big congrats to anyone who gambled on him ending this fight with a submission, as it cashed in at a whopping +1105! A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $1,039,628.
