MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 156 middleweight Chris Honeycutt as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Friday night (June 17, 2016) against Mikkel Parlo at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
The talented wrestler is moving up a weight class just six weeks after his last fight, but he’s not concerned about giving up any size come fight night:
“[Mikkel Parlo] doesn’t seem like he cuts a significant amount just to make middleweight. I still might have some size on him. I started getting my explosive training in and my body adapted very quickly. He’s a striker, but he’s not bouncing around a lot. He’s a hard-nosed dude and I don’t see him being afraid of any of my punches I’m throwing at him. Maybe I can get a submission or ground and pound because I feel his ground game is 25 percent of what his stand-up is.”
