boxing-glovesThe Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York hosts Showtime Boxing this Saturday, June 11th Super Welterweight 12 rounds – Willie Nelson +650 Demetrius Andrade -1000 Note: The 22-0 undefeated Demetrius Andrade returns to face WIllie Nelson in a showcase bout designed to get Andrade back in front of a national audiendrade won the vacant WBO world title at 154 lb in November of 2013 when he won a split decision over Vanes Martirosyan and he defended the belt in June of 2014 against Brian Rose. Since then, he gave the belt up due to inactivity, and he returned to fight a non-televised match last October against Dario Fabian Pucheta of Argentina. Andrade is one of the 154 pounders to watch, nd he is looking to get past Nelson here so he can target the likes of Erislandy LAra and the Charlo brothers Jermall and Jermell, all of whom have world titles. Super Welterweight 12 rounds – John Molina Jr +800 Ruslan Provodnikov -1250 Note: The return of Provodnikov is highly anticipated, as the Russian is a huge crowd pleaser. Here, he is moving up a weight class and he is looking to win a second fight in a row for the first time since back in June of 2012. Molina is 4-5 in his last 9 bouts, but the competition incluides Adrien Broner, Humberto Soto, Lucas amrtin Matthysse, Andrey Klimov, Mickey Bey and Antonio DeMarco. Like PRovodnikov, Molina is coming up in weight and he has 23 KOs in his 28 wins so he brings power he is confident in. Heavyweight 10 rounds – Mario Heredia +2750 Andrey Fedosov -6000 Note: Russia’s Fedosov is 28-3 overall and he has been off for more than a year, however he is looking to move back into the heavyweight title picture. In heredia, he gets a 13-1 fighter out of Mexico, not exactly a hotbed for heavyweights. Middleweight 10 rounds – John Thompson +250 Willie Monroe Jr -350 Note: in his last outing, Monroe Jr (19-2) lost a world title bid to Gennady Golovkin, getting stopped in round 6 after a decent showing. Likewise, Thompson (17-2) is coming off a world title fight loss, as he travelled to England to face Liam Smith and was stopped in round 7. Monroe Jr is 29 and Thompson is 27 so both men are entering thier pirmes and must avoid a second loss in a row.
