RFA 38’s Christos Giagos: ‘Whatever Darabedyan throws at me, I’ll be able to counter’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with RFA lightweight Christos Giagos as he prepares for his main card bout this Friday night (June 3, 2016) against Karen Darabedyan at The Hanger in Costa Mesa, California.

“The Spartan” has definitely done his homework on the former WEC veteran, and he feels he can take advantage of Darabedyan’s weaknesses come fight time:

“I think I match up very well with Karen Darabedyan. I’ve got the height. I’ve got the reach. It’s hard to say. If you watch his fights in WEC and you watch his fights recently, it’s really different so I don’t know which Karen to expect. He has trips and jiu-jitsu so I have to be cautious of that but if I can keep it standing and get him tired, I feel I can definitely take the fight and finish it in the second or third round. I want to frustrate him on the feet, get him to shoot, work hard to get the takedown and get him exhausted that way. I’ve just been gameplanning a lot of his style and I feel like whatever he throws at me, I’ll be able to counter.”
