Early Look at UFC Fight Night 88’s Prelims on FOX Sports 1

Jessica EyeThe Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Las Vegas, NV with UFC Fight Night 88: Almeida vs Garbrandt. The night of action features 11 bouts, culminating with a five round bantamweight showdown between two of the most feared, undefeated prospects in the division. Preliminary card action gets underway at 6pm ET on UFC Fight Pass and 7pm ET on FOX Sports 1, with the main card kicking off on the same channel at 9pm ET. If interested in wagering on these plays, or any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Kicking things off for the preliminary card on FOX Sports 1 will be a sure-fire barn-burner in the UFC’s lightweight division between a pair of ace strikers in Canada’s Shane Campbell and the Duke Roufus trained Erik Koch. These 155-pound warriors are expected to get the televised action rolling on a high-note, and not many expect this one to go the full three round distance. Campbell is coming off a unanimous decision loss to James Krause three months ago and is 1-3 in his last four outings inside the Octagon. Koch, meanwhile is 1-3 in his last four and is coming off a two-year layoff following a first round knockout loss at the hands, or feet– of Daron Cruickshank. It is definitely “do or die” time for both lightweights, who will be looking to secure their spots on the UFC’s roster with an impressive victory on Sunday night. The next bout on the evening’s televised prelims on FOX Sports 1 comes in the UFC’s middleweight division and see’s former RFA 185-pound champion Jake Collier take on promotional newcomer Alberto Uda. Collier had promise entering the UFC but has been very much a disappointment. He is likely fighting for his job entering this one. An injury forced former Legacy FC lightweight champion Carlos Diego Ferreira out of his scheduled match-up against Blackzilian product Abel “Killa” Trujillo, so in steps another Legacy FC veteran in Jordan “All Day” Rinaldi. Rinaldi is taking this bout on the heels of an impressive five fight winning streak that includes three submission finishes. “Killa” is riding high coming off a first round guillotine choke submission of Colorado-based lightweight Tony Sims and is hoping to make it two in a row for himself inside the Octagon by taking out promotional newcomer Rinaldi. This is a fun pairing in the UFC’s 155-pound division and a solid contender for the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. The featured bout on the UFC Fight Pass prelims on FOX Sports 1 is a “do or die” match-up in the women’s bantamweight division between Ohio’s Jessica “Evil” Eye and 2004 Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann. Both ladies are on two-fight defecits and are 1-3 in their last four outings inside the Octagon, so they are in dire need of victory this Sunday night.
