MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 198 light heavyweight Patrick Cummins as he prepares for his Fight Pass main event this Saturday night (May 14, 2016) against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil.
While he’s 35 years old, the talented wrestler feels he’s suffered significantly less wear and tear in his career and he’s the much fresher fighter heading into this battle:
“From my standpoint, I feel like I definitely have the youth card on my side. I’m still hungry. I still want to go challenge for the belt and I feel like he’s kinda just, ‘I’ve gotta get myself back in there. I’ve gotta take these fights. This is who I am.’ You get to a certain point and you kinda stop challenging for the belt and you’re just kinda in it to be in it because that’s all you know. At the same time, a guy like that has an insane amount of experience. I feel like in my short existence in the UFC, I’ve fought four top 10 guys so I’ve got that crash course of experience. Between my hunger and that experience, I feel like I can go out there and get the win 10 times out of 10.’
