Fights to Avoid Betting for UFC 198

Stipe MiocicUFC 198 Date: May 14, 2016 Arena: Arena da Baixada City: Curitiba, Parana, Brazil The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Curitiba, Parana, Brazil this Saturday (May 14, 2016) with UFC 198: Werdum vs Miocic. The incredibly stacked 12-fight card kicks off on UFC Fight Pass at 6:15pm ET, with preliminary action continuing on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET, and the main card getting going at 10pm ET on Pay Per View. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Fights to AVOID betting are: Heavyweight title bout: Fabricio Werdum (-145) vs Stipe Miocic (+125) Gabe’s Thoughts: I am in complete agreement with the current betting odds for this heavyweight title fight. I think it is a very close fight that could easily go either way, but I do lean towards Werdum to get his hand raised and believe he should be a slight betting favorite heading into the contest. I could see him defeating Miocic by T/KO, submission or on the judges’ scorecards. At the current odds, I don’t see value on either fighter for a wager, so this ultimately has to be a fight to avoid at the sportsbooks for me come Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Werdum by Submission (rear naked choke, 3:24 round 3) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Welterweight bout: Luan Chagas (+345) vs Sergio Moraes (-430) Gabe’s Thoughts: Chagas is taking a big step up in competition in his promotional debut in this match-up, and while I would not be surprised to see him get his hand raised, I think he is outmatched against he veteran in this contest. That said, at the current odds, I do think this fight is a “dog or pass” situation and I can’t get myself to pull the trigger on the dog in this spot, so this has to be a fight I recommend avoiding at the sportsbooks this weekend. Gabe’s Call: Moraes by Submission (rear naked choke, 1:03 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
