TUF 28 Finale Closing Odds and Betting Results

The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale took place Friday, November 30, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was headlined by a top ten welterweight clash between Rafael dos Anjos and Kamaru Usman.

Favorites that Won

Kamaru Usman moved himself into the top title contender as he dominated Rafael dos Anjos to win by wide decision in the night’s main event. Usman closed -330 with the return on dos Anjos +250.

Juan Espino secured a takedown in the opening seconds of the fight and forced Justin Frazier to grapple. Espino had a big advantage on the ground eventually forcing Frazier to tap out in the first round. Espino closed -200 while Frazier closed +145.

Pedro Munhoz landed early and often against veteran Bryan Caraway forcing him to cover up and the referee to step in and stop the fight in the opening round. Munhoz closed -320 with the return on Caraway +250.

Edmen Shahbazyan surprised Darren Stewart utilizing grappling heavy approach to nullify Stewart’s striking power. Shahbazyan had to survive a flurry in the third round to win the decision for his first UFC win. Shahbazyan closed -121. Stewart closed -109.

Antonina Shevchenko out struck and out grappled Ji Yeon Kim to win by dominant decision to win her second bout in the UFC and extend her undefeated record. Shevchenko closed -280 while Kim closed +225.

Maurice Greene beat former Olympic wrestler Michel Batista by first round triangle choke to win in his UFC debut. Greene closed -141 with the return on Batista +111.

In a battle of debuting fighters, Leah Letson edged out Julia Stoliarenko by split decision. Letson closed -205 while Stoliarenko closed +165.

Roosevelt Roberts won his debut in the UFC over Darrell Horcher by first round submission. Roberts closed -347 with the return on Horcher +277.

Tim Means returned to the winner’s circle having little problem with Ricky Rainey as he was able to TKO him with ground and pound inside of two minutes in the opening round. Means closed -358. Rainey closed +278.

Raoni Barcelos got the night started by having little trouble getting Chris Gutierrez to the mat and submitting him the second round. Barcelos closed -512 while Gutierrez closed +382.

Underdogs that Won

Macy Chiasson utilized her strength and physicality perfectly as she was able to force Pannie Kianzad to the mat and submit her with a rear naked choke in the second round. Chiasson closed -110 while Kianzad closed -120.

In a back and forth slugfest, Kevin Aguilar earned a decision victory in his UFC debut over Rick Glenn. Aguilar closed +100 with the return on Glenn -130.

Surprisingly priced as an underdog, longtime flyweight stalwart Joseph Benavidez TKO’d Alex Perez in the opening round to get back on track in the division. Benavidez closed -105 while Perez closed -125.
