Valerie Letourneau vs. Joanne Calderwood flyweight bout set for UFC Fight Night 89 UFC officials announced Thursday that strawweight fighters Valerie Letourneau and Joanne Calderwood will move up to flyweight in the promotions first every 125-female bout at  UFC Ottawa. Letourneau (8-4) heads into this matchup off her unanimous decision loss to champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 193. The defeat snapped the American Top Team product’s four-fight win streak. Calderwood (10-1) is coming off a ‘Fight of the Night” victory against Cortney Casey at UFC Fight Night 72 last July. She’s 2-1 in the UFC with wins over Casey and Seo Hee Ham, while losing to Maryna Moroz close to a year ago. Brandao (20-11) was arrest in  Albuquerque, N.M. on four felony counts, including aggravated battery with great bodily harm. In addition, the Brazilian is also facing a suspension from the NAC after testing positive for marijuana at UFC 195, in his loss to Brian Ortega. The TUF 14 winner went 6-4 in the UFC.   Cezar Ferreira replaces Scott Askham at TUF 23 Finale against Anthony Smith Scott Askham has been forced to pull of the TUF 23 Finale with an undisclosed injury UFC officials confirmed Thursday. Taking his place is TUF Brazil’s Cezar Ferreira, who takes on Anthony Smith. Ferreira (9-5) got back in the win column after he defeated Oluwale Bamgbose at UFC on FOX 19. Prior to that, the Brazilian suffered knockout losses to Sam Alvey and Jorge Masvidal last year. Smith (25-11) is coming off his first UFC victory, a decision win over Leonardo Augusto Leleco at UFC Fight Night 83 in Pittsburgh. The TUF 23 Finale takes place July 8, the eve of UFC 200, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Here’s an updated look at the card.
