MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC on Fox 19 strawweight Rose Namajunas as she prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Saturday night (April 16, 2016) against Tecia Torres at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
The former title challenger and TUF 20 finalist has done her homework in preparation for this rematch and she feels things will definitely go differently this time around:
“[Tecia Torres] has grown as a person but her fighting style looks very similar. I think she’s doing everything she’s been doing, just a little bit faster, little bit harder, but I don’t think her approach to a fight is different. She’s still very safe. She’s still good at doing whatever it takes to just win, get the W. For me, I look different every fight. It’s not just off a loss or a win, I think I take everything from the last fight and approach every fight differently because it is different. I have a lot of tools. I think I have way more, a bigger arsenal than she does. That’s one of the things we’re applying to this fight. Instead of wanting to tear her head off and be aggressive in the past, I’m a lot smarter now and I’ll use everything to my advantage. I’m the best Rose and I’m unstoppable when I use all my tools with controlled aggression and controlled emotions rather than trying to kill you.”
