B.J. Penn vs. Dennis Siver set for UFC 199 Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday that B.J. Penn makes his much anticipated return at UFC 199 against Dennis Siver. Penn (16-10-2) returns from a two-year layoff and is coming off a third round TKO loss to Frankie Edgar. The 37-year old has lost four straight fights and hasn’t won a bout since 2010. Siver (22-11) heads into this matchup off a unanimous decision loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri and is currently 1-3 in his last four fights. UFC 199 takes place June 4 at The Forum in Los Angeles. Penn vs. Dennis Siver   UFC scraps Season 24 flyweight tryouts for ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ Tuesday the UFC released a statement that tryouts for a fall season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” have been scrapped. Last week the promotion announced TUF 24 would feature male flyweight fighters, with the tournament winner earning a title shot at the finale. Here’s what the statement said. “UFC announced today that the open casting call for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter originally scheduled for April 25 in Las Vegas has been canceled. UFC apologizes for any inconveniences this cancellation has caused. More information about the next season of the show will be made available in the weeks to come.”     WSOF 31 finalizes it’s main card  MMAJunkie reports that three new match ups have been added to the WSOF 31 event including UFC veteran John Howard’s promotional debut against Thiago Meller. Howard (23-12) heads into this fight off a knockout loss to Tim Means at UFC Fight Night 80 and went 3-4 in his second stint with the UFC. Meller (20-7) is coming off a submission victory over Leonardo Rodriguez and will also be making his promotional debut. Also featured on the card are featherweights Luis Palomino (24-12) vs. Sheymon Moraes (8-1), and heavyweights Chris Barnett (14-2) vs. Justin Willis (3-1). WSOF 31 takes place June 17 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. Here’s a look at the updated card.
