UFC Fight Night 86 Date: April 8, 2016 Arena: Arena Zagreb City: Zagreb, Croatia The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be making a trip to Zagreb, Croatia for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 86: Rothwell vs Dos Santos. The main card will get going at 2pm ET on FOX Sports 1, with preliminary action preceding it on the same channel at noon ET and 10:30am ET on UFC Fight Pass. Here is my parlay: Welterweight bout: Nicolas Dalby (-140) vs Zak Cummings (+120) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Dalby will find success in keeping this fight on the feet, where I see him outpointing Cummings for at least two out of three rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. I don’t think Cummings will be able to finish Dalby, so I see him needing to score takedowns to win this fight, and I don’t think he will be able to steal two rounds with his wrestling. One, perhaps, but I don’t think he’ll take two. This fight could also very well come down to who is the better conditioned fighter heading into the third and final frame of action. I think Dalby should be a -180 betting favorite in this contest, so I’ll toss him in this two-way preliminary card parlay. Gabe’s Call: Dalby by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Welterweight bout: Alessio Di Chirico (+150) vs Bojan Velickovic (-170) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think at this point in their careers, tough somewhat undersized, Velickovic is the superior mixed martial artist heading into this 170-pound contest and I see him getting the better of fellow promotional newcomer Di Chirico. I think both fighters are solid and expect a close fight, but I see Velickovic doing enough to win every round for a unanimous 30-27 nod from the judges at Octagon-side. Both newcomers, despite the outcome of this contest, will likely enjoy a future in the UFC and I expect a fun fight from them in their debut throwdown.
