WSOF 30 Date: April 2, 2016 Arena: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino City: Las Vegas, NV The World Series of Fighting (WSOF) returns tonight night (April 2, 2016) with WSOF 30: Branch vs Starks. The four-fight main card will kick off on the NBC Sports Network at 11:30pm ET. If interested in wagering on these plays, or any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are currently made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my live dogs: Light Heavyweight bout: Jake Heun (+210) vs Vinny Magalhaes (-230) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this fight is a lot closer than the betting odds indidicate. If Magalhaes fails to submit Heun, I think he is going to be in trouble. At +210, I find it hard to pass up on Heun in this spot, so I’ll have to lay down a value play. Gabe’s Call: Heun by T/KO (punches, 0:38 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Heun (+210) 1.5u to win 3.15u Middleweight bout: Abu Azaitar (-345) vs Danny Davis Jr (+315) Gabe’s Thoughts: I do not agre with these betting odds at all, as I see this as a coin-flip match-up. Azaitar obviously has the much better record, and on paper, should make quick work of Davis Jr. However, I don’t think things are going to play out that way. I see this being a tough fight for Azaitar, and one he likely loses. He may give Davis Jr some trouble on the feet in the first round, but I see Davis Jr taking over in the second and third with his superior grappling and taking a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards, if not securing a submission for the victory along the way. Davis Jr is a .500 journeyman, but I think that stylistically, this is a match-up in which he could come out on top more often than not. Gabe’s Call: Davis Jr by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Davis Jr (+315) 2u to win 6.3u
