Live Dogs for UFC Fight Night 85 in Australia

SteveBosse_HeadshotUFC Fight Night 85 Date: March 16, 2016 Arena: Brisbane Entertainment Centre City: Brisbane, Australia The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Brisbane, Australia for the second time in promotional histry with UFC Fight Night 85: Hunt vs Mir. The action-packed card will feature 13 bouts in entirety, with the main card getting going at 10pm ET on FOX Sports 1 and preliminary action preceding it on the same channel at 8pm ET, with a trio of bouts before it on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30pm ET. If interested in wagering on these plays, or any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my live dogs: Light Heavyweight bout: James Te-Huna (-250) vs Steve Bosse (+230) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this 185-pound contest is closer than the betting odds currently suggest. As for my official pick, I have been going back and forth, but I believe Bosse has a legitimate chance of winning this fight. Te-Huna’s chin has become a very big concern, and if Bosse connects, I think it could be lights out. In what I think is a close fight, I am going to side with the +230 underdog for a value play. I will also outright pick him to win the fight, though I could end up changing my mind, especially following today’s weigh-ins. Gabe’s Call: Bosse by T/KO (punches, 2:23 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Bosse (+230) 1.5u to win 3.45u Featherweight bout: Daniel Hooker (-200) vs Mark Eddiva (+185) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a match-up in the UFC’s 145-pound division that I expect to be close and can see going either way. I think Hooker’s main advantages are that of size and reach, and don’t see him really dominating Eddiva in any department. I don’t think he is as big of a T/KO threat as Kevin Souza was and think if he gets his hand raised, it will most likely come on the judges’ scorecards after outpointing Eddiva for the majority of 15-minutes of action. I think Eddiva’s best chance at winning is also on the judges’ scorecards, but I would not be surprised to see either featherweight record a finish in this contest. Though I don’t believe the chances are high, I can see either fighter finishing the fight, and if hits the scorecards, I think it could go either way. At his current underdog tag of +185, I think Eddiva holds some value for a play. I see this as being a close fight, and I will be laying money down on Eddiva, as well as picking him to outright win the fight. Gabe’s Call: Eddiva by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Eddiva (+185) 1.65u to win 3.05u
