Five Crazy Props that Cashed Big for UFC 196

The Ultimate Fighter 19: Taleb v KingFive Crazy Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five crazy UFC 196 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakerss. 1) Nate Diaz by Submission +700 Nate Diaz pulled off a big upset and submitted heavy betting favorite Conor McGregor with a rear naked choke in the second round of their scheduled main event contest. It was a very entertaining fight from start to finish and it took home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors when all was said and done. Diaz continues to impress and surely became a big star following the victory, so it will be big money fights for Nate from here on out, finding himself in a position his older brother Nick has been settled into. Congrats are in order to those who bet Diaz to tap McGregor out, especially if you tailed me, as it was one of the prop bets I recommended for the fight card. (I recommended it at +775 and it closed at +700.) 2) Miesha Tate by Submission +505 Miesha Tate scored a huge, come-from-behind fifth round rear naked choke submission win over Holly Holm to become the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Tate showed great heart and will in this contest, never giving up and going for the win for every second that she was in the fight. After failing to finish in the second round, many spectators felt she was on her way to losing a decision, until she pulled off the surprise upset in the fifth and final round of action. It was a very impressive performance and victory for Tate, who certainly gained a biggeer fan-base following Saturday night. Props to those who wagered on Tate to finish this one by submission, as they saw their tickets cash at a cool +505. 3) Siyar Bahadurzada by submission +1930 Bahadurzada pulled off an upset by defeating Denver, CO’s Brandon Thatch via unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards following three rounds of action. Thatch was getting the better of the Afghani fighter early in the first frame, but Bahadurzada turned the tides it a takedown late in the round. After seeing Thatch had no answer off his back, Bahadurzada did more of the same in the second and third rounds until ultimately securing an arm triangle choke to earn a quick tap from Thatch in the third. Those who gambled on Bahadurzada finishing Thatch by submission saw their tickets cash at a whopping +1015, so congratulations are definitely in order. 4) Nordine Taleb by T/KO +632 Nordine Taleb looked phenomenal on the FOX Sports 1 televised prelims for UFC 196, outstriking Kings MMA’s Erick Silva and knocking him out cold in the second round of action. Following a second round submission loss to undefeated Brazilian Warlley Alves last year, Taleb finds himself back in the UFC’s win column at 170-pounds and looks forth to his next outing. Those who bet on him to put Silva away with strikes saw their tickets cash at a nice +632, so props to them. 5) Teruto Ishihara by T/KO +430 In the very first fight of the night on the UFC Fight Pass prelims, Teruto Ishihara defeated Julian Erosa via second round knockout to pick up his first win in the UFC. It was a nice win for the Japanese fighter, who’s power proved to be too much for Erosa, and fight fans look forward to seeing him back inside the Octagon. Congratulations are in order to those who took Ishihara to defeat Erosa by T/KO, as the prop cashed at a sweet +430. It was another prop bet I recommended in my article for the card, so hopefully you tailed. A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $3,811,684.
