480 Stipe Miocic vs. Junior Dos Santos rematch set for UFC 211 According to MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani, Stipe Miocic’s next title defense will come against the last opponent who defeated him, Junior Dos Santos. The rematch will occur May 13th at UFC 211. Miocic (16-2) won the UFC heavyweight title last year at UFC 198, when he dethroned former champion Fabricio Werdum by first-round knockout. Miocic then successfully defended his title in his home state of Ohio, knocking out former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem at UFC 203. Dos Santos (18-4) heads into this matchup off a unanimous-decision victory over Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night Zagreb in April. He was slated to fight Stefan Struve at UFC Halifax on February 19th, however, an injury to “Skyscraper” pulled both heavyweights off the card.
