While, things remained status quo at the top with godofmma holding onto his lead, Great Britain’s BigBilBar7MMA jumped up all the way to fourth place with a top 10 weekly score. Perhaps the biggest move of the week came from Izi_Garcia going all the way from 17th to just outside the top five. The Florida native was overjoyed with his results this week and had this to stay about it, “I’m not here to take part. I’m here to take over. Last night was like every other night; I pick the winners and call the method. If you need some help feel free to checkout my twitter.” Defending champion KyleMarley was more somber about his picks at Fight Night 83 and is very much interested in moving forward to next weekend’s card. “I had a pretty bad showing, but it seems like most people did since I stayed close to the top of the rankings. This weekend’s card should be interesting though with half of the fights on the card having over a 2-1 favorite.” To check out the full standings, click the following link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bNP42Mmel6cSyvazGaflXEUekAE9ayoXf0eeffKHOa8/edit#gid=383318574 Some additional notes on the first card:

  • Favorites to win: 10
  • Underdogs to win: 3
  • Biggest Underdog to win: Nathan Coy (2.05 points)
  • Biggest Consensus Pick: Cody Garbrandt (105) / Augusto Mendes (11)
  • Biggest Consensus Pick (2016 Record): 3-2
  • Most Contentious Pick: James Krause (59) / Shane Campbell (57)

Next event is UFC Fight Night 84 on Saturday, February 27 with the first European event of the year. Will the top three maintain their positions or will there be a shakeup in the standings? With a lot of heavy underdogs on the card, a surprise upset can significantly change the standings.
