MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 83 bantamweight Ashlee Evans-Smith as she prepares for her upcoming preliminary card bout this Sunday night (February 21, 2016) against Marion Reneau at the Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Evans-Smith is looking for her first UFC victory after coming up short in her debut, and she feels she has a very good opponent to get her back on track in the women’s bantamweight division:
“I’m not gonna talk shit but I am confident. I think Marion is a perfect match-up for me. Sean Shelby put together a fight that’s gonna be super entertaining. We’re both fighters that don’t back down, keep coming forward and we’re skilled as well. It’s not gonna just be a street fight. It’s a different style match-up. She’s Muay Thai and gi jiu-jitsu and I’m more no-gi and wrestling. It’s two hard-nosed women who have different backgrounds and at the end of the day just really, really want to win. I’m coming off a year layoff and she lost to the champ.”
