Here are my live dogs: Welterweight bout: Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira (+265) vs Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (-295) Gabe’s Thoughts: Oliveira is a late notice replacement for Cerrone’s original scheduled opponent, Tim Means, who was set to greet Cerrone in his 170-pound debut. Contrary to popular opinion, I think the Brazilian has a legitimate chance at getting his hand raised in this match-up. At the moment, I am leaning towards Cerrone to get his hands raised and agree that he should be the betting favorite heading into this welterweight contest, however I don’t agree with the current betting odds. I think Oliveira has a better chance at winning than the odds currently suggest, so I like him for a value play here at +265. Gabe’s Call: Cerrone by Unanimous Decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Oliveira (+265) 1.55u to win 4.1u Middleweight bout: Chris Camozzi (-250) vs Joe Riggs (+230) Gabe’s Thoughts: Camozzi has a big advantage in striking heading into this middleweight contest and Riggs has a big advantage in wrestling, making this a classic “striker vs grappler” match-up. I think Camozzi’s defensive wrestling is poor, so I see Riggs being able to exploit it and win at least two out of three rounds in the judges’ eyes en route to a unanimous decision on the scorecards. At +230, I believe the betting value here is with Riggs, even though I consider him to be someone you can’t really trust with your wallet. At these odds, and in this particular stylistic match-up, I find it tough to pass on him for a play. Gabe’s Call: Riggs by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Riggs (+230) 1.5u to win 3.45u Welterweight bout: Jonavin Webb (-255) vs Nathan Coy (+235) Gabe’s Thoughts: In short, I think this is a close fight, so at the current betting odds, I see enough value in Coy at his current underdog tag of +235 to pull the trigger on him for a play. I can see him making this an ugly fight and coming out with his hand raised. Gabe’s Call: Coy by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Coy (+235) 1.45u to win 3.4u
