UFC Fight Night 83 Date: February 21, 2016 Arena: Consol Energy Center City: Pittsburgh, PA The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Pittsburgh, PA for the second time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 83: Cowboy vs Cowboy. The main card will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 9pm ET, with preliminary action preciding it on the same channel at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are currently made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here is my parlay: Middleweight bout: Daniel Sarafian (-210) vs Oluwale Bamgbose (+160) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe Sarafian is the superior mixed martial artist heading into this 185-contest and see him getting the better of Bamgbose from the opening bell. He has a massive edge on the mat in this bout and I see him succesfully implementing it to pick up a submission victory, likely in the first stanza. I think this is Sarafian’s fight to lose and the only way I see him losing if he gets caught and put away early, and I think the odds of that happening are slim. I expect him to land some good shots on the feet, then change levels and take Bamgbose down, at which point it will be a matter of time until he finds a submission and secures the tap for his second straight victory inside the Octagon. Gabe’s Call: Sarafian by Submission (rear naked choke, 1:43 round 1) Middleweight bout: Leonardo Guimaraes (+120) vs Trevor Smith (-160) Gabe’s Thoughts: Smith has a big advantages in size, grappling and Octagon experience heading into this middleweight affair, and I believe they will benefit him on Sunday night. I see him pressing the Brazilian against the cage, taking him down and wearing him out. I think “Hot Sauce” will beat up on the promotional newcomer until he finds a finish, and I like his chances of earning his first UFC finish in this contest. I think fatigue will play a factor with Guimaraes, as I see him getting worn out by Smith and gassing, then finished. This is Smith’s fight to lose and the only way I see that happening is if Guimaraes is able to connect clean early, and I think the chances of that happening are very slim. I think Smith will implement is gameplan from the opening bell and secure another dominant victory, similar to that in his last Octagon outing against Dan Miller, except this time I favor a finish. Gabe’s Call: Smith by Submission (rear naked choke, 4:44 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Sarafian (-210) and Smith (-160) at +139 for 3.9u to win 5.45u
