UFC Fight Night 82 Date: February 6, 2016 Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena City: Las Vegas, NV The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Las Vegas for UFC Fight Night 82: Hendricks vs Thompson with 12-scheduled bouts. Main card action will get underway at 10pm ET on FOX Sports 1, with preliminary action preceding it on the same channel at 8pm ET and a pair of bouts on Fight Pass prior to that at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Fights to AVOID betting are: Lightweight bout: Josh Burkman (-170) vs KJ Noons (+130) Gabe’s Thoughts: Burkman is making the move from the welterweight division down to the featherweight division at 35 years of age, following the first knockout loss of his professional mixed martial arts career. This in mind, I don’t see how anybody could risk their money on him, even though this is a match-up he should be able to win. I don’t believe there is any value in Burkman at his current offering price of -170 whatsoever, and truthfully, I would even avoid him at coin-flip odds. I can’t play Noons, either. This fight just has “avoid” written all over, and that’s just what I’m going to do. Gabe’s Call: Burkman by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Flyweight bout: Justin Scoggins (+220) vs Ray Borg (-300) Gabe’s Thoughts: I agree with Borg being the betting favorite, but I think he is being overvalued at his current asking price of -300. I think he should be a 2-to-1 betting favorite, so at these odds, I think this is a “dog or pass” situation, and I am ultimately going to opt to pass. I think Borg will use his superior grappling to come out on top on the judges’ scorecards, if not find a submission finish along the way. I am a big fan of both of these 125-pounders and think this could be a very close fight, and as far as my wallet is concerned, I will be staying away from it. This will be another fight I avoid at the sportsbooks come Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Borg by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
