MMA Odds and Ends for Friday: Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ruslan Magomedov added to UFC Fight Night 86

UFC’s debut in Croatia features Gonzaga vs. Magomedov, Pokrajac vs. Blachowicz and more  UFC officials announced Thursday that a heavyweight matchup has been added to UFC Fight Night 86 pitting  Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ruslan Magomedov Gonzaga (17-10) snapped his three-fight losing streak in his last bout, earning a decision over Konstantin Erokhin in a lacklustre affair. The former UFC title challenger holds victories over Ben Rothwell, Shawn Jordan and Mirko Cro Cop. Magomedov (14-1) is coming off a decision win over Shawn Jordan and which pushed his winning streak to nine-straight fights. Also added to the card is Croatian  Igor Pokrajac (25-10, 1 NC) who will take on Poland’s Jan Blachowicz (18-5) in a light heavyweight affair. Pokrajac has won three straight fights by stoppage. In addition the UFC also announced a heavyweight fight with Francis Ngannou (6-1)  taking Bohan Mihajiovic (10-3) and a welterweight matchup between Nicolas Darby (14-0-1) vs. Bartosz Fabinski (13-2). UFC Fight Night 86 takes place at the Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia on April 10th. Instead of Donald Trump hosting the show, actor and former California governor  Aronld Schwarzenegger will take the reins. Here’s a look at the entire cast for this season. UFC officials announced the news on Thursday. Nunes (11-4 ) is coming off back-to-back stoppage victories over Shayna Baszler and most recently Sara McMann. The wins pushed her record to 4-1 in her last five bouts. Shevchenko (12-1) is coming off an impressive split decision victory over Sarah Kaufman (most media members scored it for Shevchenko). The Legacy FC veteran is currently riding a five-fight winning streak. UFC 196 (which was recently changed from UFC 197) takes place March 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Hooker (12-6) has gone 2-2 in the UFC earning victories over Ian Entwistle and Hatsu Hioki, while dropping bouts to Maximo Blanco and Yair Rodriguez. Eddiva (6-2) is coming off back to back losses against Kevin Souza and Levan Makashvili. UFC Fight Night 85 takes place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
