The Ultimate Fighting Championship has several more intriguing bouts booked for 2016 already, including an upcoming main event for UFC Fight Night 87, which takes place later this spring (May 14, 2016) in Brazil. The event will be headlined by a middleweight clash between top contenders Vitor Belfort and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Souza recently lost a number one contender match to Yoel Romero, but Romero is now out of commission after failing an out of competition drug test. Belfort, on the other hand, was recently victorious in his trilogy bout against Dan Henderson late last year, winning via first round knockout. Also on tap will be an upcoming welterweight battle between top contenders Hector Lombard and Neil Magny. Magny recently bounced back on short notice to defeat Kelvin Gastelum in his first main event while Lombard has been on ice since failing a drug test following his decision victory over Josh Burkman (which was later changed to a no contest). Another bout to keep an eye on from the same event is the heavyweight battle between Mark Hunt and Frank Mir. Last but not least, the upcoming UFC 196 pay-per-view takes place Superbowl Weekend in early February and a couple more prominent bouts from the card will have odds released a bit early.
