MMA Odds and Ends for Tuesday: UFC Fight Night 84 adds a number of fights including Lombard vs. Magny

UFC Fight Night 84 adds Lombard vs. Magny among other matchups UFC officials announced Monday that a number of fights have been added to UFC Fight Night 84 in Brisbane, Australia. Hector Lombard vs. Neil Magny With Mark Hunt taking on Frank Mir in the main event, Lombard vs. Magny is an intriguing welterweight matchup that will serve as the co-main event. Lombard (34-4-1) is currently coming off a suspension for testing positive for anabolic steroids. He hasn’t competed since a UFC 182 victory (later turned into a No Contest) against Josh Burkman last year. Magny (17-4) has gone a remarkable 9-1 run his last 10 fights, including a split decision decision victory over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 78.   James Te Huna vs. Steve Bosse Te Huna (16-8) heads into this fight off three straight losses and hasn’t competed since a 2014 submission loss to Nate Marquardt at UFC Fight Night 43 in 2014. Bosse (10-2) has fought twice since 2013 and is coming off a devastating TKO head kick loss to Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 70 in his Octagon debut.   Brendan O’Reilly vs. Alan Jouban  O’Reilly (6-1) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Vik Grujic at UFC Fight Night 65 and is currently 1-1 inside the octagon. Jouban (12-4) suffered just the second knockout loss of his career in his last fight against Albert Tumenov at UFC 192, which also was Jouban’s second loss inside the octagon. The California native is currently 3-2 in the UFC.   UFC Fight Night 84 will takes place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia. Here’s an updated look at the card.
