MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC on Fox 17 lightweight Danny Castillo as he prepares for his upcoming preliminary card bout this Saturday night (December 19, 2015) against Nik Lentz at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
The Team Alpha Male fighter has seen his fair share of peaks and valleys thus far in his MMA career, and he’s not ready to give up yet despite going through a current three-fight losing streak rough patch:
“I saw two of my teammates lose. MMA is the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. It’s an unforgiving sport and the best fighter doesn’t always win. I’m not saying I won those fights against Tony Ferguson, Edson Barboza or Jim Miller but I can’t say I lost them… It’s frustrating. I’ve done everything possible. There’s a camp I went gluten free, there’s a camp I was swimming, a camp I was cycling. I’ve worked with sports psychologists. I’ve worked with hypnotherapists… All the pressure’s gone. I’m just gonna go out there and have fun, feed off the crowd and when I hear the crowd roar, that’s gonna motivate me. Be in the moment and hopefully put on a tremendous fight for the fans.”
