Updated MMA Fighter Rankings (03/04/2013)

UFC-Japan With UFC on FUEL TV 8 officially in the books, the team at MMA Oddsbreaker has updated the MMA Fighter Rankings. In the pound-for-pound rankings, Dan Henderson dropped from No. 7 to No. 10. And for those asking, despite his recent split decision loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 157, Henderson’s overall career victories over fighters in different weight classes is the reason he still remains on the list. In the heavyweight division, Mark Hunt moved up to No. 10 with his knockout win over Stefan Struve at UFC on FUEL TV 8. Because Hunt moved up, Struve moved down two spots in the order to No. 12, behind Travis Browne who knocked him out with a superman punch at UFC 130. At light heavyweight, Henderson and Machida flipped spots, with “The Dragon” now occupying the No. 2 spot and Henderson No. 3. Another change was Muhammed Lawal dropping out of the top 15 after his KO loss to Emanuel Newton in Bellator and he was replaced by James Te Huna, who makes his debut in the rankings at No. 15 fresh off his decision victory over Ryan Jimmo at UFC on FUEL TV 7. At middleweight, the only change was Yushin Okami moving up to No. 4 from No. 5 after his dominating victory over Hector Lombard at UFC on FUEL TV 8. Brian Stann remains in the top 15 despite his loss to Wanderlei Silva because the fight was contested at 205 pounds, not 185. In the welterweight division, Robbie Lawler moved into the top 10 with his TKO victory over Josh Koscheck at UFC 157, which temporarily bumped Tyron Woodley out of the top 15, although a finish over Jake Shields at UFC 161 would certainly get him back in there. And finally, in the bantamweight division Brian Bowles was dropped two spots due to inactivity, as the former WEC bantamweight champion hasn’t fought since UFC 139 in November of 2011.
