MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 77 bantamweight Thomas Almeida as he prepares for his upcoming main card fight this Saturday (November 7, 2015) against Thomas Almeida at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The former MFC champion has seen the flaws in his upcoming undefeated opponent and he’s not planning on letting Almeida off the hook like others have in the past if he hurts him tomorrow night:
“It’s not like Thomas [Almeida] doesn’t get hit. He gets hit a lot in fact. We’ve seen another good wrestler in Tim Gorman hit him and hurt him with a jab before gassing out. Then we saw another phenomenal striker in Brad Pickett drop him twice and for whatever reason, he couldn’t finish up. That’s one thing that I’m looking to change about this. When I hit you, you’re not getting up. Look at how many strikes Joe Soto took from TJ [Dillashaw] before he put him out in the fifth. He didn’t take very many from me. He took one and he dropped like a sack of potatoes then I hit him again and he was out like a light. That’s one thing I’m looking to do with Thomas. I’m gonna hurt him and keep him hurt. I’m not gonna let him get into his groove. I’m not gonna let him get off his sneaky inside uppercut elbow game, his liver punch. I’m not gonna let him get that close and when he does, I’m gonna make him pay for it.”
