MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 76 middleweight Bubba Bush as he prepares for his upcoming preliminary card fight this Saturday (October 24, 2015) against Garreth McLellan at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
The former Legacy middleweight champion hasn’t switched up much in advance of his second Octagon appearance, and that’s because he feels he has the winning formula over his South African foe in regards to his training environment:
“I didn’t see much of his stand-up but Garreth seems pretty comfortable in the clinch, pretty comfortable on the ground. He likes to take people down too and ground and pound, rear naked choke. He’s a lot like I am, a lot of one-sided wins… I believe I have better training partners, a better community here. I went to Houston and trained at five different gyms. I went to Austin and trained at 2-3 different gyms. I’ve got a lot of cross training with a lot of different professionals here and that’s an advantage. I don’t know if he has eight different gyms with solid pro fighters that he can go cross-train at. If he just has his camp [in South Africa] then I’m going to have an advantage in training partners.”
