Breaking: Stipe Miocic out of UFC Fight Night 76 Co-Main Event against Ben Rothwell

Stipe MiocicMMAOddsBreaker.com can now officially confirm UFC Heavyweight Stipe Miocic has been forced out of his upcoming UFC Fight Night 76 bout against Ben Rothwell due to an unspecified training injury. Both top 10 fighters were scheduled to throw down in the co-main event of next Saturday’s (October 24, 2015) event in Dublin, Ireland, which is headlined by the lightweight battle between Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier and will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Miocic (#3 ranked HW) was coming off the most impressive performance of his career, a fifth round TKO stoppage of former title challenger Mark Hunt where he set a UFC heavyweight record for most strikes landed in a single fight. He has won four of his last five fights with his only loss being a competitive decision against former champion Junior dos Santos. Rothwell (#7 ranked HW) is currently riding a three-fight win streak which included surprising first round upset stoppage victories over both Matt Mitrione and Alistair Overeem. There has been no word yet as to whether or not UFC matchmakers will be able to find a last minute replacement for Miocic or if Rothwell will be forced off the fight card entirely.
