Here are my live dogs for UFC 192: Welterweight bout: Alan Jouban (+200) vs Albert Tumenov (-240) Gabe’s Thoughts: I am a fan of both of these welterweights and do not want to see either of them take a loss right now, especially by knockout, which is what very well could happen in this three round contest. They are both very tough fighters, so I would also not be surprised to see them survive through any onslaughts to make it to a decision. Should the fight hit the judges’ scorecards for a nod, I think it will have been a closely contested contest that could go either way. I think Jouban should be a +130 betting underdog in this contest, so I like him for a value play at 2-to-1 underdog odds. While I think Tumenov deserves to be a slight favorite (certainly not -240, though he could end up proving me wrong!), I’m taking Jouban as my official pick. Gabe’s Call: Jouban by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Jouban (+200) 1.5u to win 3u Women’s Strawweight bout: Angela Hill (+225) vs Rose Namajunas (-265) Gabe’s Thoughts: I lean towards Namajunas getting her hand raised and picking up her first UFC win in this contest, but I don’t agree with her current betting price of -265, as I think she should be favored to win at only 2-to-1. I see value in Hill at her current offering price of +225 and do like it for a small wager. I think there is a decent chance she finds success in keeping this fight on the feet and outstriking Rose to bounce back into the win wolumn. This is going to be a fun fight to watch and it is a type of fight where I could see anything happening. Both of these women’s 115-pounders are in constant improvement in the current stage of their career and they will each be showcasing their improved-upon skill-sets inside the Octagon this Saturday evening. I think this is a close fight, and if Hill finds success in keeping it on the feet, she could outpoint “Thug” for a decision win on the cards. Gabe’s Call: Namajunas by Submission (flying armbar, 1:34 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Hill (+225) 1u to win 2.25u
