MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 142 lightweight Mike Bronzoulis as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout tonight (September 19, 2015) against Josh Thomson at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
The former finalist of Fight Master is currently riding a three-fight winning streak and he feels he’s plenty prepared to shock the world tonight:
“You would think that [the chips are stacked against me] but in my mind, they’re not. The chips are stacked against [Josh Thomson]. He’s the guy coming off three losses. We’re fighting in his hometown. The pressure is all on him. I know what it’s like to lose three fights in a row, especially at this place in my career and that’s what he’s coming off of. Right now, he’s battling with his mind, I believe, as we all do when we lose. I think all the pressure’s on him. I’m excited about this. I’m very happy to be a part of this and have this opportunity to face such a high caliber of fighter as Josh. He’s amazing. He’s one of the best lightweights of all time. I think this is gonna be a battle more for him than for me. I’m ready for this. I think he’s ready for his way out. I heard him talk about having one more good fight in him and I’m gonna make him revisit those thoughts. When we’re done, he’s gonna think, ‘Maybe I should go back to my business and start my company. Maybe even when he’s getting his hands wrapped.’ I’m gonna make him think about that for sure.”
