MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 142 light heavyweight “King Mo” Lawal as he prepares for his upcoming single night tournament this Saturday night (September 19, 2015) beginning with a bout against Linton Vassell at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion discussed how he plans on dealing with a significantly larger opponent and how he plans on fighting in the upcoming one-night tournament:
“[Linton Vassell] is a competitor. The first fight is two rounds and I feel like he’s strongest through two rounds. He’s big, a grappler, but more than anything he’s big and unorthodox a bit. He’s a strong grappler. He’s 6’4 about 230. I’m 5’11 and walk around at 215. I’ve never really hit 220 except once or twice. He carries good size for 205…I’ll tell you what. He’d better be a cardio machine because I’m gonna bring the fight to him. For this tournament, I’m gonna bring the dog out and fight these boys.”
