Invicta FC 14 took place last night (September 12, 2015) at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. Overall four of the five fights which had betting odds resulted in finishes in a relatively entertaining show. From a betting perspective, four favorites and one underdog won based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Invicta FC 14 Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening in a catchweight bout, women’s bantamweight champion manhandled Pannie Kianzad. Evinger used her grinding style to force Kianzad to the canvas, working her over with submission attempts and ground and pound before picking up a TKO in the second frame. Evinger cashed at -170 (Bet $170 to win $100) while Kianzad closed at +130 (Bet $100 to win $130) as the dog. In a strawweight bout, DeAnna Bennett was the benefactor of a pretty ugly judges’ decision. Bennett looked strong early, taking the first round against “The Killer Bunny” Katja Kankaanpaa, but Kankaanpaa was able to utilize her superior grappling in the final two rounds in what should have earned her an upset victory, but the judges mysteriously sided with the American over the Finnish fighter via a surprising unanimous decision. Bennett closed at -215 while Burns was the +165 underdog. In a flyweight bout, veteran Roxanne Modafferi had her way with Mariana Morais, outstriking, outgrappling and pretty much out-everything-ing her over the course of three rounds. Morais only threatened late with a guillotine choke but when that failed, she succumbed to ground and pound and was finished via TKO late in the third round. Modafferi closed at -165 while Morais lost as a +125 dog. In flyweight action, Andrea “KGB” Lee brought the hype back by putting on a blistering performance against an overmatched Rachael Ostovich. Lee nearly finished the fight on several occasions before finally securing a verbal submission tapout to an armbar with just two seconds remaining in the contest. Lee dominated as a -265 favorite while Ostovich lost as a +185 underdog. invicta FC 14 Underdogs That Won In a featherweight contest, Belgian fighter Cindy Dandois made a big impact by knocking off hyped prospect Megan Anderson via second round triangle choke submission to earn her first Invicta FC victory on her second attempt. Dandois pulled off an upset as a +155 underdog while Anderson lost at -195.
