UFC 191 Date: September 5, 2015 Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena City: Las Vegas, NV The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Las Vegas again for UFC 191: Johnson vs Dodson. The action-packed 11-fight card has a five-fight Pay Per View main card that kicks off at 10pm ET, with preliminary action preceding it on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm and UFC Fight Pass at 7pm prior to that. If interested in wagering on any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Over/Under Totals for UFC 191 are: Light Heavyweight bout: Corey Anderson (+130) vs Jan Blachowicz (-150) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Anderson should be a -180 betting favorite heading into this 205-pound contest and see him outwrestling, outgrinding and outworking the Pole over three rounds of action for a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. I don’t like his chances of finishing Blachowicz, so for that reason I am opting to play the total of Over 2.5 rounds at -165, rather than taking Anderson straight up at +130. Though the return is not as great, I think the risk is far less, as I could see Blachowicz edging the decision or winning a controversial one he does not deserve. In any case, I favor this bout to hit the judges’ scorecards for a decision much for often than not, and I think Anderson takes the nod a majority of the time. Gabe’s Call: Anderson by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds (-165) 3.3u to win 2u Bantamweight bout: Francisco Rivera (+100) vs John Lineker (-120) Gabe’s Thoughts: Two very heavy handed bantamweights will go to war in this preliminary card battle. After having issues making weight at 125-pounds, Lineker was forced to move up to bantamweight and is making his UFC bantamweight debut in this match-up. He is facing a similar fighter in Rivera; someone who moves forward and looks for the highlight-reel knockout finish. I think they will both have the same gameplan heading into this fight, and I expect both to go bonus hunting from the opening bell. They both have great chins, so I would not be surprised to see this go all three rounds, but considering how hard they hit and the Total of Under 2.5 rounds being at -105, I’ll take a shot at somebody going down within 12.5 minutes of action. Gabe’s Call: Rivera by T/KO (punches, 1:52 round 3) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 2.5 rounds (-105) 1.05u to win 1u
