The UFC controversially cut 16 fighters today from their roster, including perennial welterweight contender Jon Fitch, according to MMAFighting.com. Fitch was 1-2-1 over his last four fights but there was a great outrage today on Twitter from fans and observers of the sport over the release of one of the top 10 welterweights in the world. Fitch leaves the UFC with a record of 14-3-1, with the lone losses coming to Georges St-Pierre, Johny Hendricks and Demian Maia. The other fighters that were cut today are: Jay Hieron, Paul Sass, Terry Etim, Josh Grispi, Motonobu Tezuka, Ulysses Gomez, Vladimir Matyushenko, Che Mills, Jacob Volkmann, Simeon Thoresen, Mike Russow, Mike Stumpf, Jorge Santiago, Wagner Prado, and CJ Keith. Bader vs. Teixeira, Cerrone vs. Noons, Barry vs. Jordan Set For UFC 160 UFC 160 is starting to take shape with the addition of three new fights. The first is a light heavyweight bout between contenders Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader, which will take place on the main card of the evening, and the second is a heavyweight contest between Shawn Jordan and Pat Barry according to MMAweekly.com. Both of these fights should be pretty competitive, and it will be interesting to see where the MMA Odds open at for both of them. And finally the UFC has booked a lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone and KJ Noons for the same event. This should be a fun fight between two of the best strikers in the UFC lightweight division but Cerrone will likely enter as a sizeable favorite.
