MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 74 featherweight Max Holloway as he prepares for his upcoming main event this Sunday night (August 23, 2015) against Charles Oliveira at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
The 23-year old is currently riding a six-fight win streak in the division, but his last loss, a 2013 decision against Conor McGregor still haunts him and he can’t wait to get his hands on the current interim UFC champion again:
“I can’t sit over here and say [Conor McGregor’s] not the real deal. He’s been doing so much for the sport and doing awesome, but at the day, I want my rematch. I believe I can beat him. I believe I’m in the best fighter in the world and that’s just my beliefs and that’s what got me here. I can’t wait to rematch that guy. I’m not saying if we fight again I’m gonna win, I’m just saying that everybody is saying the first fight was good and were telling me, ‘Oh, you should be happy you went to decision with him,’ but that’s like being happy being in second place or being happy being a loser. I don’t want to be a loser. I want to be a winner and I work too hard to not be a winner. I want to rematch him and see how it goes. It should be a great one. The second fight is gonna be more awesome. There should be hype between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway 2.”
