UFC Fight Night 74 Date: August 23, 2015 Arena: SaskTel Centre City: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada for the first time in promotional history for UFC Fight Night 74: Holloway vs Oliveira. The Canadian evening is action-packed with 12 scheduled bouts, including a six-fight main card that will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 9pm ET and a preliminary card to precede at 7pm on the same channel, with a pair of bouts coming prior to those on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my main card parlay for UFC Fight Night 74: Welterweight bout: Erick Silva (-175) vs Neil Magny (+155) Gabe’s Thoughts: Magny is making an immediate return to action following his second round rear naked choke submission loss to Demian Maia at UFC 190 earlier this month. He is taking the bout as a short notice replacement for Rick Story, who pulled out of action due to injury. After having his seven fight winning streak snapped by Maia, I think he is going to slide to a two fight skid after taking on another Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in Silva. Magny’s only two defeats inside the Octagon have come by way of submission against Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts and that is exactly what Silva is. He will have a massive edge in grappling and submissions heading into this contest and I think he has a good chance of submitting Magny. However, should he fail to secure the finish, I think he will win at least two out of three rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. A T/KO finish is also a very likely possibility for the Brazilian. I think he should be a -300 favorite heading into this contest, so I like him for this parlay at his current price of -175. Gabe’s Call: Silva by Submission (rear naked choke, 2:23 round 2) Lightweight bout: Chad Laprise (-335) vs Francisco Trinaldo (+275) Gabe’s Thoughts: Laprise is the superior striker headed into this 155-pound affair and I see him outstriking Trinaldo throughout this contest, until ultimately putting him away with strikes or picking up a unanimous nod from the judges’ at Octagon-side. Laprise opened as a -190 betting favorite in this contest, and I thought he held tremendous value there, but unfortunately, so did the public, as they came in on him strong. His line has been juiced up to -335, but I still see value there, as I think he should be favored to win at 4-to-1. Gabe’s Call: Laprise by T/KO (strikes, 4:17 round 2) Gabe’s Recommended Parlays: Silva (-175) and Laprise (-335) at +104 for 3.75u to win 3.9u
